Work and Residence Permits

If you are a non-EU national, you will require a work permit to work in The Netherlands.

There are many types of work permits, but the fastest way is through the Highly Skilled Migrant (KMR) scheme.

TPA is authorised and able to file applications based on the KMR scheme which allows non-EU nationals to work in the Netherlands under a residence permit rather than a work permit. There are certain conditions of salary and education to meet.

To come to the Netherlands, an entry visa, a Provisional Residence Permit (MVV), is required. TPA will apply for an MVV and a residence permit at the same time, and this process is called the “Entry and Residence Procedure” (TEV).

Not everyone needs an MVV to apply for a residence permit in the Netherlands. You will not require an MVV when:

  • You are a national of Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, or the USA.
  • You have been a holder of a European Blue card for 18 months or more in another EU Member State.

We will initiate the TEV procedure for nationals of all other countries. After the approval, the contractor collects the MVV from the Royal Netherlands Embassy/Consulate in the applicant’s home country or country of residence.

TPA’s Immigration Department will apply, keeping you informed at each step of the process until you have entered the Netherlands and completed all the formalities.
